!±8± 3 Tips to Increase Your Calorie Intake to Build Muscle

If you've spent any time trying to build muscle, you know that one of the keys is that you have to eat more than you might be used to eating. To some this can seem like a daunting task. If you fall into this category, just keep the following three tips in mind.

Tip 1: Eat More Often

If you're trying to get in all the calories you need in 3 meals a day, you're probably going to have a hard time doing it; unless of course you are eating three HUGE meals.

Instead, try breaking your meals up into smaller chunks. Smaller here is a relative term, because each of your meals still needs to move you towards your intake goal.

Try and eat 5-7 meals a day. Figure out how many calories you should be eating and then divide that by the number of meals you will be eating. This gives you an estimate for how much you should be eating with each meal.

Tip 2: Eat More!

This may sound redundant from the last tip, but you really do have to eat more food with each meal if you're going to build muscle. This is especially true if you have a very ectomorphic body type or consider yourself a 'hard gainer.'

In order to build muscle your body has to have the energy and resources to pull from. And if you're a naturally skinny guy your body is already very good as using the energy you give it. So what do you do? Give it more so that you can actually start to gain some weight!

Tip 3: Use Supplements to Fill in the Gaps

In trying to eat more you also have to be reasonable with your schedule and lifestyle. Some of us just don't have the time to sit down for 5-7 meals a day. This is where muscle building supplements like protein powder supplements can come in handy.

There are a lot of options that you can pull from for getting in meals in a more convenient way. You can use bars, powders, pack pre-made sandwiches like meals, etc. The idea is don't make excuses find solutions.

In summary, you have to eat more if you're going to build more muscle. Use these three tips to help you reach your muscle building goals.
